Acupuncture is the insertion of hair-thin, sterile needles into the body to activate special receptors which communicate with the central nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular systems. Though it is sometimes presented as an 'energy medicine,' it is really just the manipulation of blood, nutrients, oxygen, and nerves.
'Dry Needling' is a style of acupuncture where a muscle can be relaxed by needling into a special 'motor point,' which also 'reprograms' the muscle to stay relaxed.
There are literally hundreds of styles of acupuncture: at Body Architects we have trained in many of them, and we try to improve our knowledge on a daily basis.
