Acupuncture is the insertion of hair-thin, sterile needles into the body to activate special receptors which communicate with the central nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular systems. Though it is sometimes presented as an 'energy medicine,' it is really just the manipulation of blood, nutrients, oxygen, and nerves.
Acupuncture results in the release of natural pain-killing substances and dilation of blood vessels delivering oxygen and nutrient-rich blood, hormones and immune factors to sick areas of the body where the tissue is starved for these substances.
In the same way that a symphony is not just a violin section, or a piano, or a drum section, acupuncture allows us to 'conduct' several healing processes of the body in harmony.
Although it has its roots in the deep past, it continues to progress and advance in sophistication through the efforts of practitioners in Asia, Europe, and America. At Body Architects, we’re committed to constantly updating our treatment knowledge. We focus less on how old our knowledge base is, more on how well it treats so many problems of the modern world.
